Due to some weird comments and my general stalker-paranioa I think I am making this journal friends-only. I would make a cool graphic, but I am super duper lazy. Comment if you are lurking and I'll think about adding you. Comments are screened for obvious reasons ^_~

My daughter just asked me if I would take care of her if she was an adult and the government took away her house. Holy crap, I need to stop watching the news in front of her...

Although it makes you think. They say people in my generation (and the half one before mine) are very financially conscious cause of the 80's recession. And apparently Gen Xers are bad with money cause they have a sense of entitlement from the 70s.

Don't know how true any of that stuff is, but when Angel asked me about foreclosures in her future it sort of made me think about how the economy affects kids, even those not directly impacted.

It seems that Terry Mann is coming back to broadway!! Wahoo! He's going to be in The Addams Family playing one of the Beinekes (the normal neighbors) and I am sooo excited to get THAT cast album. I was concerned he would go all "hollywood actor" after doing the Dresden Files, so I'm over the moon that he's into musicals again. I'm currently celebrating my Terry Mann happiness with a mix of:

- Where's the Girl (TSP)
- if I can't love her (B&B)
- Stars (Les Miz)
- Falcon in the Dive (TSP)

I swear, his voice is soooo amazing! If you are on my flist and have not intrduced yourself to this mans voice, please...do yourself a favor and click below. Some of the quality is questionable but it has clips of some of his most famous performances. Unfortunately there's no full songs on YT, but if you have iTunes I suggest you check into some...cause TM is the awesomeness. For realz. His baritone makes me swooooooon.

I can't believe Michael Jackson died. Shocking.

My favorite Michael Jackson song will always be "Human Nature." It evokes such powerful images of the city. For me, I always think of the bright blue bridges in Jacksonville and the shining ocean at night.

When I saw the story run in TMZ I was 100% sure it was fake. I am so sorry I was wrong. Still can't believe it.

Oh, and for anyone who saw that last magic game, that was farking terrible! I couldn't belive how we just fell apart, almost from the beginning. Its like our team WANTED the lakers to win!Sheesh! I think what upset me most was that we played so hard to get to the finals and then just took our beating as thanks for being there!! Gaaaah!!!

Hello world! Well its been a while since I updated, but frankly, I've been busy! Rostam came home from VA almost two weeks ago exactly and then the very next day I was on a plane t E3. This being my first show, I felt a little noob ish about everything, especially when it came to working the floor. The LA convention center is huge, and getting around was pretty tough for the first few hours.

But despite all the difficulty at first, getting around after that was pretty easy and I was able to play some cool games including the kingdom hearts for ds, final fantasy dissidia, rock band lego arkham asylum and bioshock 2. Well, I didn't actually get to play that last one, but I did see it in action so yay!!

But anyways, as fun as the show was, being media there was a lot of work! I had about 15 booth tours to wrap up as well as 30 previews (which I am still working on, btw) plus I am starting as a web assistant today. Oh, and of course add this to the fact that both my sister-in-law as well as my father are visiting from out of state and let me just tell you, I have been busy.

I am actually hoping to be able to get some calm this weekend as it will be the first where I don't have some looming event on the horizon. Should be a good time! XP.

SOOOOOO! After years of speculation, plenty of people saying it couldn't/wouldn't exist (due to tensions with Disney)....guess what?

TOY STORY 3 is REAL!! And I have a trailer to back it up ;-) Honestly I am SOOO excited for this movie. Toy Story is one of my all-time favorite movies, and its combination of truly FUNNY humor (not just fart jokes or pop-culture references) got me hooked on Pixar. Truly one of the best in my book. Soooooo....here's the trailer!!

OK, so with everything going on in my life, I probably should have updated sooner, but because everything has been so crazy, that's why I haven't been updating. Funny little catch-22 :-P

Soooo....we bought the house on Poppy Field, and so now Rostam and I are the owners of a nice little...mortgage. Actually the mortgage really isn't bad. It's $600 (including taxes) a month, and then $300 for association fee (which includes Cable, water, and outside insurance). Which all equals out to about $900 for a place that is MUCH bigger than our old apartment and about $300 cheaper. (with cable and water the apartment was about $1200 a month) The old apt. was also only 2/2 which made having guests/family.....difficult. Our new place however is 3.5/2 with the .5 representing the office room. Isss niiice!

However, once we bought the house, we ran up to VA to go visit the FAM, since we figured it was a *really* good time to do so, and with Rostam's work we might not get the chance to go again. Visit was nice, but since Mr. Rostam INSISTED on it being a suprise everyone was sort of busy with work. But we still got in some QT, which was good.

Then the day after we came back from VA I had to fly out to LA again to check out a UFC game. I never really considered the UFC a real sport, but I was really suprised at how intense it really is. Everything was cool though, and the people at THQ are always down for a good time.

I came back the day before mother's day, which was nice, and then for the actual holiday rostam bought me....a kitten! He is 2 1/2 months old and is an orange tabby. He is a cuddle monster though and will attack any lap he sees and then prompty snuggle it and fall asleep. Check the cut for a cute picture. Rostam and I were tossing around names in the car and he ended up being Faize (Yes, I am an SO4 fan :-P) Of course then we joked that we needed to find a Lymle for him later on :-)

After Mother's day, our anniversary was on Tues. which was nice. We're sort of broke, so we just went to go see a movie. But I have to say, we picked a good one: Star Trek. Seriously, that movie is badass. If I wasn't so excited for Terminator I would go see it again ^_^

Then on Wednesday, Rostam's dad called and asked him about him going back to VA to watch the store while he is in Iran. Rostam agreed to, since his job still hasn't picked up yet, much to my personal sadness. I told Rostam it wasn't fair cause I actually have never been by myself EVER, and now I am stuck here for two weeks without the husband. *Is depressed*

Sooo...that's basically the last 3 weeks of my life. Oh, and then I have E3 coming up in June, so that will be fun. Although I am sure it will wear me out, buuut its an experience I am sure I will never forget. The only downside is I have nooooo clue what to do about food/transportation. The boss is paying for the hotel/airline (which is awesome cause that is like $2000 in itself) but being so broke I need to find out how to get around LA cheaply. (Normally THQ shells out for a limo) Any ideas would be appreciated ^_^

Anyways thats about it. Let me cut to a cat picture before I forget....Collapse )
